To help ensure the fundamental human rights of physical health and mental well-being, our work centers on building sustainable, collaborative, and community-based responses to health disparities. We support organizations that address both urgent and basic needs involving food security, reproductive and maternal health, disease and violence prevention, LGBTQIA+ health, and social services.
Syringe Service Programs (SSP)
We support comprehensive harm reduction programs that improve the health and wellness of people who use drugs. These programs provide free sterile syringes, education, and community wraparound services to reduce opioid overdose and the transmission of HIV and viral hepatitis.
Access to quality, affordable & equitable healthcare
In 2009, we helped found Medical Home Network (MHN), a group of public and private organizations working to transform the way healthcare is delivered. In 2025, MHN transitioned to a public benefit corporation to better support safety-net providers and created The Chicago Fund for Healthier Communities. The Chicago Fund seeks sustainable solutions for urgent public health issues & care transformation.
